Lance McIlvain – The legacy continues
After graduating from Midlothian High School in 2001, I decided to attend college. After two years, however, I realized I should follow my true dreams to rodeo and fight bulls. So, I applied for and got my PRCA card at the age of 19. I’ve always known my dream was to fight bulls because I come from a long line of bullfighters. My dad is Frank McIlvain, a professional bullfighter and barrelman at the Mesquite Resistol Arena for 46 years. My brother, Glen McIlvain was a PRCA bull-rider and has been to the NFR four times, once winning the average in ’84. Two of my brothers, Chris and Frank Jr. fought bulls professionally as well, and my brother Terry also rode bulls professionally. Terry has appeared in such movies as Pure Country and Platoon.
I have the ability to promote sponsors and rodeo by traveling cross-country, holding publicity events, and fight bulls professionally.
